SoundSet Creator on Mac

Late 2013 iMac 10.12.2 works just fine with importing.

I did just run into a glitch on the iMac Late 2013. It seemed to log me out of my computer. Screen went black and then asked me to log back in. Then I had to log out and back in to open Syrinscape. It might have been an error on computer. I don’t know. This is more of an FYI. I figured the more info we pass along the better.

Thanks for all the work again guys! Loving this!

ETA: I’m having to restart my iMac. The creator wouldn’t open after the reboot. It looks like it may be an error on my end, not the program

When I restarted my iMac it started updating it. It must have been waiting to update and that may have caused the issues I was running into. It ran smoothly all day.

I just imported a sample and it seems to work fine!

On a Macbook Air from 2013 running OS 10.11.6

Yey!

    Goooood… veeery gooood…

We have another build which I am testing now… which theoretically works on ALL machines…

…but you know… you never know! :hankey:

Downloaded v 0.8.2 on MacBook Pro late 2011
error when importing .wav

Process: sox [877]
Path: /Applications/Syrinscape SoundSet Creator.app/Contents/Resources/vendor/sox/sox
Identifier: sox
Version: 0
Code Type: X86-64 (Native)
Parent Process: Syrinscape SoundSet Creator [687]

Before I found this thread I downloaded the .exe in Bootcamp Windows 7. The import dialog did not have the explorer section and I couldn’t select any files.

Other than that, this software is AMAZING! Thank you so much!

I’m running OSX Yosemite 10.10.5 and everything seems to be running smoothly so far, but when I add sound sets there’s a progress column that builds from the bottom and continues to build until I cant actually view any of the options for sound sets

Edit: after fiddling with it a bit more I just needed to toggle the log button a couple times

I’ve since tried it on my 2015 Macbook Pro running 10.10.5 and it wont even start. I try and the little player window comes up saying that it’s connecting but then nothing happens.

I don’t know if it matters but my Mac is from 2010

Will we be able to import our playlists into the SyrinScape application or will we have to run it from the internet window that the Creator application opens?

Is anyone else having Transcoding issues? I’m trying to import music files from Platemail games

Are you using wav or ogg files? The only issue I had was with my 2011 MacBook. Newer models worked fine.

Yeah. So definitely doesn’t work on 2011 machines…

Stay tuned.
@cody_krause You’ll be able to hit the little cloud (under the SoundSet inspector and that uploads your SoundSet to the server, and makes it appear in ALL your players.

Make sure you check out this Playlist of very useful videos:

Staring… ME!

OK!

Here we go, we are pretty sure this build will work on the 2011 machines as well.

Everybody test!

THANKS THANKS THANKS! :lollipop:

Here’s what I found just now…
It’s very strange. I uploaded a sample in OGG first. It didn’t work, but it may have been user error. I uploaded a WAV file next. Worked fine. Then I uploaded several WAV files. Some uploaded fine, others had a transcoding error. I re-uploaded those one by one and they uploaded just fine.

Thanks for the new build! This kink may be user error or may just be just that, a kink. Is it inconvenient, yes, but importing works for the most part. So I’m not going to complain too much.

On another note just got home from our D&D campaign session. I’m not the DM, but I’m in charge of sound. our players and DM loved it. You guys rock!

Has anyone else ran into a problem with one Syrincscape window saying “not responding” under activity monitor? Also, after having Syrinscape open for a while, my computer slowed down. I looked at the activity monitor and my browser was using 40GB of memory (I don’t even have that much memory).

Oooo…

@jg201290 Which build are you using?

Fixed for me! MacBook Pro late 2011, Mac OS X 10.12.3. No problems importing.

Hey @jg201290

Wanna try using Chrome instead?

If the browser starts up in Safari, just:

  1. copy the URL you see there and close that TAB
  2. Open Chrome
  3. Paste the URL in
  4. Proceed.

Let us know if that works better for you!?!?
