Same here, I’m super excited to use my own soundsets within the player in another device.
Access granted to all above!
As for the next update: SHOULD almost certainly be THIS week!
We discovered one bug with the test build I was using (which was break upload of some content).
Planning on fixing that first this week, then we’ll unleash it on you!
As a game developer my self I know first hand how annoying those last minute bugs are. Keep up the hard work Benjamin & co.
Thanks soooo much @thedragonladis
As it turns out the Creator has been a huuuuuuuuuuuuge job, and it’s amazing to see the end of the first stage finally looking reachable!
May I have access, too? I finally switched back to windows, Macs will now only be used in my editing room.
Can’t wait to see the next version. Kudos @benjamin and all of the Syrinscape team for all of the hard work you’ve put in. I know this turned out to be a far bigger project than first planned but from what we’ve seen so far it’s really paid off! Virtual for everyone
I would like access to the beta if it is still available.
I would like access please! :3
I would like access, im a newer member but i’ve loved the program so far and it has helped alot
Access please! I have the older beta version, but I’d like to try the new one!
Just bought a SuperSyrin Sub, now I would like to try the creator
As a gamer you understand that we DMw when actively building our world and campaign, a subscription makes total sense but even, then there may be a couple months of intensive work and then life requires us to give it a rest for a couple months. It can be six months to a year of nothing happening before we get a gaming group to play that hard worked campaign,(speaking from a RPG game master of 38 years) To not have access of all our work does not make sense when you’ve invested that much time and money into building a campaign, that you can not access without paying again a subscription, just to play your content I’ve had a playing campaign that lasted three years is that fair to have to pay $360 dollars, just to play content that a Dm has taken the pain to assemble?.
This is a wonderful product which I have been promoting in several forums . If you want to sell a monthly subscription to use the sound creator that is one thing, I would rather buy it for a $100 to buy and keep than to pay a monthly fee when I not going to use it or have an hour to work on my sound project . , but you should have the player available to anybody that will pay for the player, and then the content they make should be always available to them, they should be able to download it and save it on their computer not have it always be on your server, Please hurry up and decide Benjiman as your decision will influence my use or promotion of this product.
Here’s the thing - you always have the choice to unsubscribe. And while you are subscribed, even if you’re not running a campaign, every new set that gets released, you own. Permanently. In the past two months I’ve been subscribed, twenty five sets have been released. So, twelve and a half sets in one month. $40 worth of sets on the shop, for $10.
No, totally not worth it. sarcasm
So, with all die respect, quit whining about what is ultimately YOUR CHOICE. Subscribe, unsubscribe, do whatever you want. But that’s for you to decide for you; you don’t have the right to dictate to Ben or anybody else how they should run their business.
Take it easy, I don’t think he is telling anyone how to run its business, he’s just a costumer expressing how it feels about the monetisation model in a respectful manner. Don’t dictate to other users how they should voice out their concerns with the product.
I think the problem he has is, that people who unsubscribe loos the content they created themselves via the creator which, if that is indeed the case, would be a problem in my opinion (I also don’t want to loose stuff that I created after I unsubscribe).
Being a Supersyrin subscriber grants full access to all soundsets and therefore all samples, about 27,000 of them. So when we continue to pay for the subscription we are not just paying to be able to hear our own sounds we are also paying to be able to use all of the sounds created and utilised by the Syrinscape team.
I understand that a lot of people would like to pay a one of fee and be able to keep and use their own sounds off the server. At the same time we have to take into consideration that the creator was built to give us access to the full catalog as well as our own additions. We have to remember that we all want different things from this app and to be able to use it in different ways but we also have to take into consideration it’s purpose and the costs involved in running it.
I suppose a big question would be how long does a account remain active? If someone cancelled their sub because a game was over how long would they have to renew before their content was deleted? And more importantly could we pay a smaller sub amount to keep the account open.
Personally it make much more sense for me to keep my sub active and therefore own all of the new releases but I know that’s not possible for everyone. If releases get back up to the rate that they were before work on the creator began then the sub is far better value than individual purchases. And with the creator then then the usability of the app is pretty much unlimited.
Hi all, good discussion of good points.
And yes, stay nice everyone.
I reckon this:
- The stuff you build will NEVER be deleted from our server
- to access it you’ll need ANY level of sub.
- that’ll include a new Server Only sub at $5 per month.
- So in @yosefnbender’s senario he could take a 6 month break paying nothing and then pay another $5 to light all his home made SoundSets up again
The Creator was VERY expensive to develop, and just maintaining the servers and support and creating new content takes a large team, so to stay viable we need to come up with a pricing structure that covers cost and keeps Syrinscape amazing.
I hope that all makes a bit of sense?!?
One of our probs is this situation:
- @NaughtyPerson Subscribes to SuperSyrin
- Uses the Creator to duplicate all the content on the server
- Uploads all this content as their own
- Cancels sub
- Has access to everything we ever made forever for $20
Sooo… we could stop this by some tricky programming and comparisons, or having a team compare uploaded content with homemade stuff OR we could release a separate version of the Creator with no server access and no access to content.
BUT all this takes dev time and money (which then takes away from other things)
There are a LOT of really GREAT things we want to do with Syrinscape (online remote control, voice changing, rich community, lawn mowing capability) that in the end we have to pick our priorities… and hopefully we can come up with a pattern that helps the MOST people possible have the best possible gaming experience through their-own-imaginations PLUS high-quality-immersive-sound-at-the-table.
Thinks?
