Introduce yourself, tell us how you’re using it, and what you think of it!
Well this is all terribly exciting! So… Hi there, I’m Amy. Mostly using the Creator to slowly build up a library for my Late-Georgian horror game. Haven’t had much time to play around, but I am loving it.
Hi there, i am Chris and i have been on board the Creator since Alpha. I am currently prepping it to run my Cthulhu “Beyond the Mountains of Madness” campaign starting in a month. So there’s tons of stuff to do with collecting my own samples. I am eagerly waiting for the ability to use bought soundset bits with the editor to take away some research stuff.
Apart from that - great piece of software!
Hi I’m Steve, and I’ve been using the creator since the .5 launch back in Jan. I’ve mainly been using it for my Edge of the Empire (Star Wars) game to add in a few well known sounds and help build up that familiar atmosphere. I’m really looking forward to the next release and being able to import my creations straight into Syrinscape.
Hey there! I’m Heinz, and I’m right now trying to piece together soundsets to support my Mass Effect Pen&Paper group. I love working with sound in RPGs, and I keep trying to add other tech to the table, so I’m up for using almost anything that requires a power source.
Hello! I’m Patrik, been using the creator since the beta launch.
So far, I’ve been using it primarily to annoy the girlfriend. Hopefully soon I’ll start to add it in to my group’s weekly homebrew Pathfinder campaign. The concept of having a ‘creator’-type of functionality was a BIG part of the reason I subscribed to Syrinscape in the first place, and I’m really excited to see the progress made so far and to see where it’s going.
Admittedly, I’ve found the ‘Sample Library’ interface to be a bit clunky in it’s current implementation; I always find myself either trying to drag-and-drop samples from the Sample Library into the Property Inspector, or trying to drag-and-drop audio files from my file explorer into the Sample Library/Property Inspector. Possible file explorer integration as a final release wishlist item? (Also would be great to be able to select a different sample folder than the default, or maybe move the default location).
That being said, I know it’s still in beta and there seems to be a great team behind it, so I’m sure whatever form the final release takes will be awesome!
Hi, My name is Barry.
I’m more of a board game player (see my youtube channel “Badgerthebrave”) than a RPG’er but I have a great fascination for sound and how we perceive things differently when that element is added to any situation.
Syrinscape is a wonderful tool that I wish that I invented. The sound set editor, I have dabbled with. Free time is rare at the moment with all the everyday tedium. You know, working, cleaning, eating, video making, playing with child, podcasting, breathing, hugging and creating music. But the thing that I really want to try is adding my own FX’s and music.
I have just put together a CD soundtrack that emulates Syrinscape (but is nowhere as good) I have been speaking to Ben about creating a zombie sound set for you all. Fingers cross, things will start taking shape soon.
My name is Andrés, I always like to add some music to my games, so I’m really excited about the whole sound effects trip, I’m working on a Pathfinder Wrath of the righteous campaign using Fantasy Grounds + google hangouts, I really like the soundset creator so far, I’m really looking forward to the next version, I can’t find a bugs thread and I’m hesitant to open a new one since the new version is supposed to come out soon.
