Which player to use

Pretty new here but very confused.

There is a fantasy player, web player, and online player.

I play in-person D&D sessions and want to use Syrinscape. We have the internet where we play.

I have a subscription if that matters.

How do I pick which player to use?

Any input is appreciated!

Hi @tedharty

And welcome to everything Syrinscape.

Soooo…
For YOUR situation playing in person D&D WITH internet, I’ll list some Pro’s and Con’s of your THREE options.

Fantasy Player.
Pros = looks like a Fantasy Thing. Runs easily on tablet (or anything else). Very responsive all the time.
Cons = older less flexible search. Can’t customise content.

Web Player.
Pros = works in Chrome on a PC. Best most flexible search. Can easily customise and save your own content = see this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVnR5nS1GhA&ab_channel=Syrinscape
Cons = reasonably demanding on your device, so may break if there’s not enough processing power.

Online Player
Pros = can be used as a back up to the Web Player. Uses the same powerful interface as the Web Player, but plays back the sound in an installable app (so easier on the processor)
Cons = an older thing, not being actively developed right now.

Have a go with that info and then ask some more questions, or give us some feedback. Good hunting!
