What does this slider do?

Hi, I have watched quite a few tutorials but I seemed to have missed whichever one it is that explains what this slider does:

Can anyone help explain what it is for? It doesn’t seem to do anything on Windows or Android.

It controls the volume of the icons above it

Ah, I see the problem now. I just have no icons (i.e. one shot sounds) so the slider wasn’t doing anything.
