Uploaded 12 hours ago. Won't show in Fantasy Player

I uploaded a soundset - SE10a The Scars are the Proof - at around 6 this morning. It shows up in the list of soundsets available on the ‘Your Campaigns’ page of this site, but in the Fantasy Player it’s not an option to download.

I avoided the problem I had before of forgetting to pick which player it goes in. It was set for the Fantasy Player.

I hear that ‘long filenames’ can be a problem. This is the longest I have: Night Final Fantasy VII Under Her Control Sax Coversubversiveasset

Is that too long?

All the audio is .wav files. What else might be the issue? Game starts in 30 minutes, but I guess I’ll have to kludge it with soundsets from earlier sessions.

Soooo…

The errors I see are:

  • [fancy letter in name] Gnoll_Camp_Tense_-Le_Set_Barr\xe9-_Succession_of_Witches_FF_VIII_Cover.transcoded.ogg
  • A missing Playlist order in an element. (Check each of your elements, that a playlist order is set for every one.)
  • Yes. Some Genres missing.

OR Maybe it was just really big.

I’ve attempted to trigger a manual reprocess.

Let me know if it’s working now, or WHERE it is broken if it’s not.

*crosses fingers and toes

I’m not sure what you mean by missing genres.

I see the soundset to download, but it’s only 255kb.

I guess I’ll have to rejigger the file names for some of the samples. I’m away from home now, so I’ll fiddle when I get back to see where things went wrong.

I recall actively checking all the playlist order entries. I thought they were all set. Some were sequential, some random,

Cool.

Genre means which Player it appears in. (sorry that’s probably an in house term)

Yes, check the samples next.

Make sure there are no fancy letters… and shorten and re-import any with looooong names.

Let me know how you go!

I’m trying it again now. Renamed a bunch of stuff.

For future reference, though, am I right in understanding that I cannot simply export the soundset, save it to a flash drive, carry it to where we game, and load it onto a copy of the player on my friend’s laptop? Because it’d be handy if there were functionality to go from creator to player without having to clog up your servers, right?

Though I guess you don’t want people just paying for the software for a month, then canceling and being able to have all the functionality without you getting anything from it. That’s legit. But doesn’t the soundset creator require a login to your server? Wait, I guess people could just cheat and share logins or something.

Anyway, I’m not trying to subvert your profit model, just avoid hiccups with uploading and downloading.

Thanks for the advice.

That’s correct.

Do NOTE: That the next version of the Creator will act directly on the server using the Minion Playback capability so there will be NO downloading of content and then uploading of sets… The only thing you will upload is new-personal-samples. Cool, huh?!?
