Star Wars Project

So I’m looking into doing a massive Star Wars Themed rebuild of the sound sets following May 4th. The Purpose for my group is slow and background mood sounds that can be used to keep the mood and transition scenes without distracting the players. Here is what I have in construction so far:

Environment Themed Planets
Caves of Selonia
Cities of Coruscant
Deserts of Tatooine
Fields of Naboo
Forests of Kashyyyk
Hives of Genosis
Islands of Scarif
Jungles of Felucia
Mountains of Eadu
Oceans of Kamino
Skies of Bespin
Swamps of Dagobah
Tundra of Hoth
Volcano’s of Mustafar
Wastes of Raxus Prime

Class Based Locations
Ace Pilots Dogfight - All your Space Combat Needs.
Hired Guns Firefight - All your Personal Combat Needs.
Colonists Outpost - Small Alien Villages, Town Centers, Markets & Bazaars
Explorers Discoveries - Ship Wreck, Abandoned Space Station, Sith Temple, Jedi Temple
Engineers Facilities - Medical Wing, Chemical Lab, Physics Lab and Computer Room
Technicians Workshop - Passenger Terminal, Freight Terminal, Mechanics Shops, Manfactorums
Spies Cantina - Cantinas, Clubs, Gambling Dens and Casinos
Smugglers Freighter - Mostly Transit Sounds
Soldiers Headquarters - Imperial and Rebel Bases

Would anyone like me to share them and can anyone think of any good theme’s they think I should build in.

I.e. Bounty Hunter or Diplomat locations ?

Oh My! This looks amazing!

So the plan is to build together and share as community content?!

This sounds incredibly useful for the community!

That sounds fantastic and yes you should definitely share them with the Community!

It would be great to get a collection of Star Wars sets :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Well I’ve taken it on as a personal project but I would like to build and improve it as the existing content expands. I also would like to share it with the community so they can provide feedback in order that it can serve as a resource for not only my campaign but other star wars campaigns. I’m also hopeful it will be useful for anyone else looking to run their own science fiction settings. (Guardians of the Galaxy and Valerian are other inspiration sources coming to mind.)

So far the project is built on 2124 Samples from your existing Sound-sets cut up across some 413 Elements. That’s roughly 17 dynamic SFX Elements per Soundest (19 being the maximum that fit on an IPad screen). I’ve also disassembled and reassembled the SQL database, Json files, and other components so I can read all the code and check for anything that might be causing hassles.

I’ve found a handy trick for you: If you want to add a Oneshot to the start of a mood, turn it into an SFX, add it to the mood then convert it back to a Oneshot. Then when you for example want to ‘Jump to hyperspace’ you can do so without having to choose a mood and press a Oneshot. I find this very useful for transitioning automatically to a new scene or location.

My planned next steps:

  1. Finalize the content of the Moods in each sound set (4-6 moods each)
  2. Re-balance the sound levels (start with 50% then alter as required for mood)
  3. Add additional Oneshots as required.

Advise as always is appreciated.

Yeah, I do this all the time. You can also make the OneShot start with a MOOD by checking the checkbox in that element’s “Mood Element” inspector. (when the correct mood and element have focus).

Here you can also set the specific volume an element starts at (in a mood). And sync that value with the volume the element happens to be set to too.

Makes sense?

When you’re ready… upload something to the server and I’ll give you some feedback.

AND I can turn stuff on for a limited beta testing crowd if you like too.

Then you fix and adjust and we make it live for the whole Syrinscape Subscriber Community!

I’m always happy to help beta test

A number of the moods are empty but most of these are at least partially done.

This last link seems not to be working for me

Hi there. I have gone to this link and it shows the soundsets for the campaign, but they are all blank. When I import them into campaign manager it doesn’t bring anything over. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Lobo,

Give me a few days, I have an urgent task to take care of and ill come back to help you as best I can.

For us to be able to use all the SoundSets in this camaign they will need to live as Community Content (which is something I need to do).

@ghostsight are these all ready to share with the Community now?

Hi Benjamin!

I would like to beta test them for a bit first.

Could that be arranged?

@ghostsight

I could turn them on for me, and @Steve and @new_vision They always have really useful opinions!

Let me know.

I’m more than happy to have a play around… I mean test them for you

But yes seriously, very happy to have a listen and share some feedback

OK everybody on this thread.

I’ve made all these sets live for you on your accounts.

If you also import the campaign @ghostsight shared then you’ll find that in the Sci-Fi Player.

Have a great big listen and give some feedback.

Mmmmmmy initial reaction is WOW! :+1: :lollipop: :cookie:

Watch out @ghostsight, @new_vision gives seriously good, detailed and helpful feedback. :ant:

awesome, thanks Ben and thanks @ghostsight. I’ll definitely have a listen

@ghostsight some of these SoundSets have MOODs that are not starting anything.

Are there more up to date versions of the SoundSets yet.

I can rename and replace the old version with a new version you upload whenever you are ready.

(It’s so cool to see all the Syrinscape content from all around other SoundSets all combined to make these iconic locations = seems like these sounds were always build for these places in the first case = they were just waiting for someone to bring them to life)
