Share Link to SoundSet?

What’s the best way to share a link to a soundset with someone that will open the online player?

For example, to post a link to the BugBear Battle as a suggestion of a good soundset to use referencing a battle scenario online.

I don’t want my session info in the link and I would assume they have their own subscription.

Hi @scott,

That’s doable.

If you navigate to the SoundSet you want to share in the Web Player. Then simply copy the URL there (removing the session UUID).

It will look something like this now:

https://app.syrinscape.com/XXXXX/#/?element=1565315&soundset=3

The person you are giving it to will replace the XXXXX with THEIR session ID… and go there.

That will drop them into (in this case) SoundSet 3, which is Bugbear Battle. You can do this to refer friends to elements and moods as well.

Makes sense?

Yes, that works for emails, but I was hoping there was a more generic link with no session ID at all. Something you can drop onto a blog post or article and reference a good soundset where anyone can click the link and do not need to manipulate it at all.

I’ve been searching through old forum posts and found this one: Get link to a Soundset (not play, but open)

It references an idea for a link before it was implemented, so I tried it out and it looks like it works. But I have not tested in in depth with anything other than the free stuff everyone gets.

Revision,

@ryan.cassar says you can just leave the ID out completely and the link will dump you into whatever session you already have.

Like this:
https://app.syrinscape.com/#/?element=1565315&soundset=3

I’ll check.

Yep, that works.

This way people could build Community Content for a particular adventure and link to it IN that adventure text so everyone (who can access it) can get directly to it.

That is really cool!

To be clear: syrinscape.com/online/master/ is going to take you to the old page without a Web Player in it, so although it looks and feels the same, it will not make sounds come out of the browser. That forum post was from well before the Web Player existed

Taking the normal app.syrinscape.com link and completely removing the Session ID and extra / as Ben describes should do it for you.

Hope this helps!

Oh, and you can freely omit the element=xxxxx& if you just want to take to the SoundSet, so again for our favourite Bugbear Battle, without any particular Element or Mood selected, and not changing your current session:

https://app.syrinscape.com/#/?soundset=3

Even better! Thanks, @ryan.cassar :pizza:  :trophy:
