Lots of big changes have come to Syrinscape Nova.
Reasons we have decided to take the “Early Access” badge OFF Nova?
- We’ve added remote player compatibility. You can now share your audio in the same way you could with the Web Player AND the volumes you set in the Nova UI will be properly reflected in what your players hear.
- We have added Share Audio button to global controls to make it easy to share that share audio link.
- You can now create your own new (empty) Soundboards OR duplicate an official one as a starting point.
- We’ve changed up the arrangement on things in that left sidebar. We now have a place to store and organise My Soundboards. You can also now find Official Soundboards separated AND a complete Component Library which you can use to add sounds into your private Soundboards.
- We’ve replaced “expansion grid” for variations on a card. Now you select the varient you want by clicking on the little (i) at the bottom right. That sets the mood of the card. That setting is sticky (it will not randomly change).
- BIG ONE = Nova now syncs its data to our server, so private soundboards and scenes should transfer to different browsers and survive local browser cache clear – but might still disappear at some point when we update the Component Library
- There’s a new logo (pretty)
- We have added a Favorites section to Nova soundboards, showing favourited scenes and content together.
- We’ve added a Show/Hide Artwork control in Nova so users can fit more cards on screen if you need to.
- We have improved Nova mixer coverage so trigger-able items from the current soundboard, Component Library, and Now Playing ALL have volume control.
- We’ve improved volume behaviour so local mixer changes feel immediate while scene transitions and global fades remain smooth.
- OneShots now don’t get replayed unexpectedly when starting and stopping other content.
Here’s an interesting one, I’d love some opinions on:
- We’ve added descriptive text to (not all yet) components in Nova. You’ll see them when you click on the little (i) at the bottom right of a card. These are intended to do two things 1) give you an idea of what you will hear if you start the component AND 2) give you some text you can read to your players… or at least somewhere to start. Thoughts?
Hope all this makes some people happy! Keep that feedback coming in!
