No sound on Syrinscape app - FIXED

Hi,
I installed the latest iOS update on my iPad mini a few days ago, and since then there’s been no sound coming from the Syrinscape app. I still get sound from every other app on the iPad. I still get sound from Syrinscape on my Mac. But Syrinscape on my iPad mini is silent, even though it appears to be playing and everything else looks normal. The volume bar is all the way to the right. The iPad is unmuted.

So I deleted the app and tried downloading the player again and reinstalling everything, which involved unblessing the device so I could bless it again. Still no change after all that: totally silent app. I’ve been using Syrinscape in my games for six months now and never had a problem like this before. I’m pretty sure the latest iPad update must have changed something I can’t discern.

We haven’t changed anything in the latest build (which has been around for a few months now…)

No one else is reporting this atm either… soooo…

There was something about rotate lock/mute button toggle thing in settings once, which I remember… but I think that was with older versions of the OS.

You say the master volume in the middle at the bottom is far to the right…

Are you using headphones? …or blue tooth…? Maybe the sound is being directed somewhere weird, because of a setting?

Problem solved: it was the rotate lock/mute button. For some reason, Syrinscape thought the device was muted, even though every other app didn’t think so. Once I turned it on and turned it off again, it understood what was up and stopped acting like it was mute.

Very weird, and not something I’d have found on my own. Thanks!

Awesome! I’m glad it’s working for you again.

It seems to be a bug that effects all Unity based apps = annoying.

Don’t hesitate to ask for help again, whenever you need it!

Just downloaded the app with the free soundtracks, but I have the same problem with an iPad air2 with no lock screen button. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi @chris96bernier

  1. Make sure your mobile device volume is not muted. Even if some apps are able to make sound, Syrinscape will obey the ringer mute volume instructions.

  2. Master Volume at the bottom in the middle

  3. Device Volume

  4. It’s actually a softer app than many other (highly compressed) music players.

Ummm…

  1. Restart device
  2. Clear DATA (under settings) then reinstall

Let me know if any of that helps!
