Music disappearing? - FIXED

Hi, uhm sorry if this is a very foolish question but I’m in need of some expertise.
I’ve been playing around with syrinscape and trying to put together some custom tracks for a game. One such track I’ve been trying to do is for a goblin fight, and I want to use the second goblin music track, featured in the battle at Sandpoint. Only, when I get everything together and playing and save it in the custom moods tab, that particular part disappears. All the other sounds I want are there, (fire crackers, goblins, explosions etc.) but the music itself disappears.
This has happened with other moods I’ve tried to create too, and I don’t know why?
I’ve closed and restarted the program to see if it was a blip, but it doesn’t appear to help. Any ideas?

Sorry if this has been asked before.

Hi @blustersquall

This is certainly a weird one.

Can you:

  1. tell me device and operating system
  2. give a clear set of steps I might attempt to reproduce exactly what you are experiencing. (this can be a tricky one, especially when something is happening intermittently)

Let’s start there, and see how we go!

Hi Ben,
Thanks for getting back to me,
I’m using Windows 7, and a laptop? Not a Mac, it’s just a normal… laptop. Uh, I don’t have anything more specific than that, sorry.
As for what I’m doing it’s as follows:
Bought the full subscription to syrinscape.
Opened the program.
Found the 'Attack on Sandpoint (after looking at other ones) and downloaded it.
Listened to it with everything.
Stopped it.
Played the ‘More Goblins’ track (or words to that effect, it’s the second track on that particular list).
Also played ‘firecrackers’, ‘explosions’, ‘goblins’ and ‘goblin commander’ over the top.
Letting it all play together scrolled up to the ‘Custom Mood’ tab. Clicked on that.
Pressed play on the ‘eerie silence’.
Saved the custom mood as ‘Goblins’

Then after stopping the track and playing it from the Custom Moods list, it played the sound effect tracks, like the firecrackers and the goblins, but not the main musical piece.
Hope that’s clear enough!

Thanks,

I’ll try this myself…

OK… I can get it to do that.

I presume you used the PAUSE button || to everything that was playing?

We definitely have a couple of timing bugs with the Pause button. At the moment.

If you start up fresh now and click your custom MOOD now it works, right?

SO it’s just something weird about playing back from a custom mood after stopping elements with the PAUSE button?

If you stop the MOOD by clicking the MOOD, and then restart by pressing the MOOD it works correctly, correct?

REASON: One of the most important features of a music track is that it must NOT play two music tracks at once… and this has lead to this kind of thing.

We are working it out for the next version.

FIX: Don’t use the PAUSE button to stop Syrinscape playing, instead click the current playing MOOD. OR click any MOOD twice in a row.

Cool?

NOTE: Thanks for your help with the good description. It’s MUCH easier to fix these things when someone gives a good reproducable sequence of actions!
