May i use your sounds in a larp? - FIXED

Hi!

I found your software a few weeks ago, and played a few P&Ps with some friends.
But there is another love we have… Live Action Roleplaying.

I am David, from Duisburg, Germany, and a member of a team organizing live roleplay events in the world of The Dark Eye. We named our series of events “Zur singenden Herberge” (-> Singin’ tavern… something like that…) and played three events since our start.
So we are going to meet us with some people in a little old mill, which is used as a youth hostel. We do not try to earn some money with these events, we just try to finance the next event with the last one and so on, (and in the end, maybe there is some money left for a pizza, for us guys who do all the work… ).

Okay, so we would like to try to use some of the Sounds in our next event. With the help of modern stuff like bluetooth-speakers its not that hard anymore to build some nice locations full of effects. For example we would build up some kind of mad scientist lab for a nightmare-sequence, and of course all the bubble sounds and screams and crazy laughs would be perfect for that.

I am not sure if i am/we are allowed to use your stuff for this kind of event. I can promise that we will tell everybody who asks the secret behind our great soundeffects and that would be your software. We excpect up to 70 people, and everybody will get in contact with these sounds…

I would be happy, to get a positve feedback.

Greatings David

Hi David,

We would TOTALLY LOVE you to use Syrinscape in your Larp. Sounds amazing!

  1. Yes, just give us a shout out and tell anyone about the sounds who wants to know.
  2. Send us some photos AND/OR videos if you get any good ones, and we’ll post on Facebook and Twitter.
  3. Is it the sort of event that needs promotion, because we can post on Social Media ahead of the evnt, if that would help?

Sounds fun!

No need for promo from your side i think, we are already fully booked, but i will give a link to this thread to the other members of our team. Maybe somebody else is interested in it as well, no matter if it is for the table or the woods

Thank you for the fast answer… i think i have lot of stuff to do…

*need to find a way to bring my own played guitar-stuff into the world * Evil Smile

Cool!

Definitely send any pics or videos.

I’d LOVE to see them.

I hope it’s a GREAT event!

Damn. I didn’t know you’re interested in this stuff. We already used Syrinscape in a LARP over here… I’ll send you some pics.

Yep we would be interested in pics of anything you do that uses Syrinscape. Halloween parties, theater, LARP, Podcasts or anything else you can think of! We LOVE seeing how you use it and sharing that with everyone

Hi guys,

our event is done… BUT, cause of some stuff-issues, there was nearly no time for taking videos or pictures, but i like to describe some of the stuff we did, and what we use Syrinscape for. 3 of 6 people were ill, so we had to improvise with a new crew…

There were two main plots we wanted to use your sounds for.

No. 1 was a some kind of dream-room. We have an evil magician doing experiments on human being, pigs and fairies including mixing them all together or feed them with each other… So, okay, it was more a kind of nightmare

I created a basic-sound set with atmospheric noises. I took all the sounds from other presets, so i didn’t create my own sounds. Maybe next time. Then we added some bubbling sounds for all the chemical stuff going on in such a laboratory…
For one part of the nightmares we added screaming children for the fairies, a monster ‘Roar’ or moaning ghosts. Highlights were the players themselve.
Our princess was drawn… and she screamed, that you really believed it. It was awesome, and our bad magician had much more fun pulling of her guts (mini-hot-dog-chain) and spill all the blood (ketchup). But the smell didn’t fit to our beautiful, oriental princess after that

A very important thing i can give as an advice… Check your f***ing bluetooth connections a few DAYS before your event and not two hours before it. My mobile wasn’t able to connect to one of the speakers we wanted to use. That was not funny!

The second station we needed the sounds for was a Magic-Gate. There is the preset on the mountain. Just cancelled most of the winds and a basic-sound was found. The players goal was to analyse the portal. There were 5 styles of magic connected to the portal/gate, and each style had it’s own soundset.

For invocation for example we added some scratches and roars. Fairy-Magic was done by some funny laughing sounds and also the sirens singing. For Limbus-Magic i added the wind again and some moaning, which should be for the lost souls between the worlds… The more mp the players used for the analysis, the more intensive got the sounds. The final stage was the destruction of the gate… Silence! The faces were great, when every was silent…

I’m sorry, that we didn’t take any videos or pictures… I will ask some players, to show you some of the analysis-scenes, and maybe i get a few pictures from our laboratoy. i will put them in here in a few days.

In october there will be our final Con. We will be invited into a knights castle, where the players will be confronted directly with the bad magician… We like to build up 3-5 Escape Rooms, where we will use your sounds again. I hope our stuff will be fine then…

Thanks for your support!
