No, I don’t use it on a Kindle Fire - can I have my cake now, please (I did answer)?
Sorry Dude, I couldn’t resist
(Actually, I seem to have a problem with that)
I use it- it’s a pain in the ass to install, and the sound sets do not apparently export onto any SD card you may be using, severely limiting just what can be put on the tablet any any one time.
An update to deal with that and availability on the Amazon App Store would be most appreciated.
Hi, i use it on a kindle fire and the performance is OK, it takes a while to load the sound files but if loadet its fine.
I got another issue: the APP stops playing when it switches to the background. This is very disturbing and ruins the great athmosphere. Is there away to fix it?
There’s some good info on the FAQ page re background playing:
Copied here for you convenience.
Why won’t Syrinscape run in the background on iPads and Android Tablets?
Syrinscape uses the super powerful Unity engine for its 3D surround audio. At the moment that’s what’s stopping it from going into the background. Think of Syrinscape more as a fully fledged sequencer (like Garage Band = stops in the background) than a music player playing a single mp3! Often Syrinscape is playing back 20 or more sample simultaneously, each with dynamic positioning, reverb and even doppler effect. Performance and responsiveness becomes a BIG issue when processes go to low power mode, and there’s issues with keeping Unity running and not destroying the rest of the Tablets system, thus Unity (and hence Syrinscape) pauses atm. I have actually found it is best to have Syrinscape sitting open on the table in front of me so I can change Sounds with just a single touch. Just make sure you keep the screen brightness low-ish so as not to drain your battery.
ALSO: Remember you can sign in as you on up to three devices at once, so you might get one of your players to bring a tablet to devote to Syrinscape for the game, with the bonus that they will get to keep the sounds when they are home too. Just make sure you leave a chunk of time to download necessary content.
Does that all make sense?
That said, should it become possible to keep Syrinscape running in the background at some time in the future, be assured, we will DEFINITELY go for it! It’s something I would like too!
That said, I gather some people have managed to multitask on Android with Syrinscape.
I think there’s some sort of app that can do that for you.
We are searching for info re that at the moment. Will get back to you on this one.
Hi, i saw this FAQ comment for devices. Its not helping me to use it on different devices, because i want to have only one tablet for all. My attempts of multitask apps was failing also. I found no app that enables me what i need. For example apps that require root access force me to install an app that gives me root access all the time - which is bombing me with advertising.
I use the tablet a lot for quick refferences and searchings during the game. - some kind of split screen would be very helpfull.
Well, it’s on our list to do as soon as the devices are capable of it, so I guess stay tuned and we’ll certainly announce it with trumpets when it becomes possible.
