In the treasure is a Orb of Gonging. I expected a sound trigger… but NO???
No Orb of Gonging? How oh how did you miss putting that in??
The beauty of Syrinscape is - there is a sound for almost everything. Just go to the search panel, select the oneshot filter and type in “gong”. There is a nice one in Descent into Avernus that you can utilize for this.
And an explanation for the absence of this particular oneshot in the Mad Mage adventure: it is “just” one wonderous item that bears no relevance for this adventure. Somewhere along the line we have to make the decision what is in the adventure and what is not. We can not include every thing that makes any sort of noise in the soundsets, we have to manage size, usability and purpose - and this item has - as written above - no relevance for the story. But, and now i am circling back to the beginning, you can easily take advantage of all the content already available in Syrinscape, search the database and find something that fits your needs.
