Hi,
I have a Syrinscape online subscription and usually control Syrinscape via Fantasy Grounds. For a couple of days last week this method stopped working, then started working again. It’s now stopped working again. Here are the symptoms.
I launch Syrinscape in a Firefox window (either as the control panel, or more usually just the online player app).
From Fantasy Grounds, I trigger a sound - for the first one played it asks for approval to contact external URL’s as usual, which I say yes to, but no sound is triggered. If I attempt to do any configuration within FGU eg fetching a web import of all my sounds, Fantasy Grouds reports an error: “Invalid response from Syrinscape server”
This is annoyingly intemittent, as within the timescale of me writing this post it’s started working again.
I attempted a direct test by starting the player app in my browser then using a hardcoded URL https://syrinscape.com/online/frontend-api/elements/1565316/play/?auth_token=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (with x = my token) and that gave me an error message in the browser:
“Sorry, something went wrong
What’s happening? We have probably made a mistake that wasn’t immediately obvious until now. We’ve already been sent an automatic email about this, and will fix the problem as soon as possible…”
Maybe you looked and already fixed the problem, but any idea what’s going on here? I don’t think it is actually a Fantasy Grounds issue since the hard-coded URL trigger didn’t work. Annoyingly, when the problem was happening I could still trigger sounds as usual via the Syrinscape browser control panel, it was just trying to do it via URL (eg via Fantasy Grounds) that wasn’t working.
Cheers, Hywel Phillips
