Download sounds via API

I’m tinkering with the API info I found the HTTP Reference doc. I’d like to build a small collection of links of my own in a local html file to the Fantasy Player using syrinscape links. I downloaded the full csv which is massive and has everything and It’s working great so far, as long as I already have the pack downloaded. If I don’t, dead air obviously as I don’t have that sound.

Is there a way to download on the fly instead of going to the Your Campaigns page and adding it to a specific campaign? For example I can make a response saying you don’t have that file yet, but it would be better if beside that was a button to download now.

Ah, I thiiiink I see.

So you are suggesting an API call to the Fantasy Player app (on PC) that causes it to download and install the content needed to playback the content in a SoundSet.

Is that right?

Yes, I think I’ll just move to the online player links but I really like the look and feel of the Fantasy Player for anything not on the interface I’m building.

Ryan suggests that actually Fantasy stuff plays with no prob, but YOU are wanting to trigger Sci-fi stuff so it has to be in the SoundSet list (which you are doing by adding it to a campaign)?

No, I’m just in Fantasy, no Sci-fi, but it’s trying to call a sound set from a package I haven’t downloaded yet because I’m using the excel table with absolutely everything in my search. It’s OK, I remembered I can use both the Fantasy Player and the Online Player at the same time so my little interface can use the online links and anything not on there I can use the Fantasy Player so I’m fine.

Ah, so, yes… no indeed, guess was wrong! A call to play does NOT trigger a download. So an API call to do that could be a thing…

BUT indeed, a mixed approach also fixes your prob!

Sounds like a good solution. (get it… sounds)? :pizza: :trophy:
