Custom Moods and other items

I just purchase a Superduper subscription, whatever it is called and have some questions.

  1. My group an I play online with fantasy grounds so I thought this would be great with the online app. We spent 40 minutes tonight and even though I had everyone follow the directions and I could see them all joining my game. Only 1 person could hear the sound coming through their online client. I basically had to play it through my mic so they could hear it. The one Mac user had an especially hard time as he was unable to link his account.

  2. Assuming I get all the above resolved I use a webcam mic when playing. Whats the best setup so they don’t hear the sounds when I pick them coming out of both my speakers into mic and out of their clients, assuming I get it to work.

  3. I downloaded the fantasy player to play around with sound sets off line. Tried to follow the example of making a custom mood. Took a combo from Dungeon Depth and Bug Bear Battle. No matter what I tired the little plus button on the custom moods set would not allow me to click it.

  4. Assuming I get #3 to work, will these custom moods synch to my online master board?

  5. Is there a way online to filter and only see specific sets or make collections. For example if I only want to see the Dragon of Icespire peak sets how can I do that. It’s tedious and slow to search for each set and no offense the search engine isn’t that smart. I type Dragon and none of those sets even came up.

Appreciate any help. My players enjoyed what I was able to accomplish but it was not as fluid as I would like and I don’t want to play sounds through my mic.

Here’s a paste from our FAQ page re MACOS atm:
We have many people using Syrinscape on Catalina, but, yes, it objects a bit with a few warnings and often blocks the first run.

First give this a try:

  1. Shutdown Syrinscape completely
  2. Restart your system
  3. Restart Syrinscape

If you have no luck with that, then check you are running it the best way for the OS:

  1. download the DMG and drag the app to /Applications folder (ie don’t run it from inside the DMG)
  2. right click and select open instead of double clicking to launch the first time
  3. if Catalina asks for additional weird permissions (eg to monitor keyboard input), you can deny… We think this is due to the version of Unity this build is running on, and we do NOT and do NOT need to monitor keyboard input while the app is not active
  4. if it appears to be stuck, quit and re-launch the same way
This is an issue we are working on, and it will be fixed with our next released version.

Nooo… you should use the Creator Functionality that is built into the Online Player…

Here’s a good set of tutorials on all that:

Yes. You can either use the text search field at the top left OR this page here:

Are you saying the Search in the Offline Player or the Online Player?

Sounds like you just generally need a bit more familiarity with everything. There’s quite a lot to take on board, but WE can help you out!

Keep asking questions…

And mostly… THANKS for your support as a sub!

Really make sure everyone is registered, linked and running the app.

A good way of checking your PLAYERs have everything set up the right way is if they can see the art changing on their Online Player Apps when you play stuff from new SoundSets… if they are not seeing that then they probably need to go backj here: syrinscape.com/online and make sure everything is properly set up.

If they ARE seeing the art change and their app is saying YOU are their GM AND they can see dancing bars of sound on the App… then they should be looking at their sound settings on their machine (eg Skype automatically turns everything else down in the Volume Mixer when it runs (Windows))

Have another go with some of these ideas and ask more questions!

Good luck!
