Ambitious, I know, but how cool would this be?
I would love to run this adventure sometime myself, having a custom-built sound set would be amazing. Train sounds and all that jazz. It would be legendary!
There are some Cthulhu sounds in the Sci Fi player if you werenât already aware of it. Actually I find there are lots of sound that you could use in a fantasy games in the Sci Fi player.
I have some links here that might be useful.
This one is to a campaign community created set (not created by me) for a Cthulhu adventure set in a coastal town - https://syrinscape.com/account/campaigns/5812-6550a38604/
This one is for all of the particularly spooky/fear-inducing sets between both the Fantasy and Sci-Fi players (which includes some Cthulhu-specific ones) - https://syrinscape.com/account/campaigns/6403-b68aa67011/
The Sea Monster set in the Sci-Fi player does have sounds of a metal ship in rough waters, without any specifically ultra-modern sounds of a newer engine, if that is needed.
Now, as Syrinscape doesnât currently have old train sounds, old car sounds, or steam ship sounds, I had to turn to another source, one of my favorites outside of Syrinscape, Ambient Mixer.
This is a to a link for a search for â1920â - http://www.ambient-mixer.com/s/1920 It includes train, city, jazz club, and office sounds.
This one is for âorient expressâ - http://www.ambient-mixer.com/s/orient+express which includes several peopleâs variations.
This one is for âspeakeasyâ - http://www.ambient-mixer.com/s/speakeasy with many choices.
This is one for âjazzâ - http://www.ambient-mixer.com/s/jazz Some might be more modern (Syrinscape does have a Music - Jazz soundset, but itâs a bit more modern as well) but some may be up your alley.
While Ambient Mixer doesnât have Syrinscapeâs versatility, it can help fill in the gaps not currently covered.
I did actually start building a soundsets like this a while back, with each of the carriage types set as moods. Dinning cart, baggage cart, etc. Plus chanting and spooky noises, guess I really should get around to finishing it then!
Looks like Steam Train is live for SuperSyrin subscribers, because I just downloaded mine, and it is just what the mad cultist ordered for this adventure!
Hi @HECook, which Soundset is that? is it âSteam Train (1)â With the moods Coach Class, Cabin Class, Dining Carrige etc?
Just had a quick listening - awesome stuff, Steve!
Cheers @new_vision but thatâs not supposed to be out yet lol! Iâm still working on it. Think itâs been made live in error
Consider it a sneak peak of what the set will be! Iâve only finished the proper version this afternoon, with added voices and new music. Iâll get it updated shortly!!
All aboard! "Steam Trainâ is now finished and available to download! If you installed it earlier today then youâll just need to do a quick update to make sure you get the finished version, sorry about that ď¸
Hope you all enjoy
Available to download from where?
âSteam Train to Salemâ is NOW available as community content in the Sci-Fi Player.
Community Content = means itâs visible to all SuperSyrins = we love you @Steve
@Steve I hope you like the suping up I did?!?!
(is âsupingâ a word?!?)
Hmmm, no Steam train to Salem available in SciFiâŚ
Derp!
Try now?!?
I clicked the wrong click!
It mysteriously appearedâŚ
No, suping is not a word. It would be souping-up or souped-up. Youâre welcome.
OK, so I am not going to pretend I am not very disappointed this isnât available to me.
Itâs pretty darn amazing!
Temptation to SuperSub⌠*worhorhorhorhor!
No, I donât need it that much. It really should be a SoundSet that can be purchased though. Iâd buy that.
