Can't clear data on desktop app

For the last few months my desktop app has had the entire soundset catalogue ready and available unlike before when I would choose which soundsets to install.

I’ve tried clearing data via settings but seconds later the data I just cleared comes back. It wouldn’t be a problem except for the fact that I’ve customized my global one-shots and I can’t remove the bugbear battle soundset which comes with extra default ones that I can’t remove.

Hi @marvinxi

Soooo we changed the way content installs in the Fantasy Player a little while back.

If you look under the settings cog, you now have these options:
Download Everything = this will install ALL content completely, absolutely everything available
Auto Download = this will instantly download anything you navigate to.

If both these are off, then Syrinscape will only download samples when you actually start playing sound in a SoundSet.

BUT NOTE: ALL Global OneShots are always installed even if you haven’t installed the SoundSet they belong to.

So… there is currently NO way to get rid of the Bugbear battle globals.

BUT, they will always appear BELOW any of your own globals, and thus your own globals will be first visible and also will be the first to be assigned shortcut keys.

Probably NOT the news you wanted, but at least you’ll now know you are not going mad! :bug: :hammer: :robot: :fire_engine:

I did notice the change a while back that I no longer had to choose which soundsets to install as they were all made available.

The bugbear battle isn’t the only one that comes with default global one-shots though is it? I thought there was a sci-fi one too… that one isn’t showing up in my globals…

Any plans to adjust this in the near future? I use some of the bugbear battle global defaults so for now I can just remove those from my custom set.

@marvinxi

Boom! We have made a change that should help you out.
(this is a dupe post in a few places, but I want to pick up everyone who was interested in this happening)

We have deployed a change that lets you HIDE the default (official) Global OneShots in the Fantasy Player and Sci-fi Player AND Web Player and Online Player.

You can find the setting under your dashboard here:
https://syrinscape.com/dashboard/
Allow max 10 minutes for the change to show in the Fantasy Player. A restart can help. Refresh the Web Player to see the change.

You can also find the setting in the Web Player interface:

  1. Go to the hamburger menu = three horizontal lines at the top right
  2. Select SETTINGS there
  3. Change your settings.

The interface automatically update in the Web Player with this method.

Have a go and let us know if that works how you want.

Useful? :robot:

See this video for THEN adding some of your own Globals so the panel shows JUST what you want. (for those who don’t know how to do this)
