Makes sense, thanks! That message shows up after clicking the “Refresh Listing” button (green box) and then the message is in the confirmation pop up box (yellow note)
Cool. Thanks for that @curtis.lithgow. I’ll get that message softened a chunk!
We’ve got a couple users asking on support that they can only see the free content. They might be missing this step, right?
Thanks!
I might think that was caused by not putting in your API token? But perhaps a refresh after putting that in…not sure.
Oo! So users have to BOTH:
- AND actually manually put in their API User token from their Online Control page?
Is that what you mean? That might explain things.
I thiiiiiiiink the API is meant to be able to do that automatically, though… hmmm… maybe the extension needs to add that.
I think so…I did…but just because I assumed it was necessary.
Hello,
I have responded elsewhere but just thought I would put my thoughts here too.
The new Foundry VTT modules works a treat. The only slight problem is the volume control but I can do that using the Syrinscape controller thingy online.
However does anyone know how to get the online app to work on the iPad mini? All I am getting is the output player, not the actual controls.
The offline controller app is working ok but that is off line only right?
Hey @Abourious,
I believe you’ve got replies to these questions on another thread and on the support email, right?
But TOTALLY ask again or clarify if you still need more info.
So this module is working pretty good. I love that I can integrate this to foundry…I have one issue.
The foundry volume controls do not seem to effect the playback? how do change the volume on some of the sounds?
In order to change the volume of single elements you have to have the web player UI open and adjust the volume of the sound there.
Hi. I had problem that in Foundry was no sound at all.
Created playlist and after starting of play…no sound…
When I open web player (that url with app…) in tab of browser it suddenly works
Does it mean i have to open web player to have this Foundry module work ?
There is no info of this…
Does anybody know how to solve this ?
I am using it on Foundry VTT 13.348 and latest module Syrinscape Controller, browser is Chrome and Foundry is hosted on my private server
Hiya @pavel.radvan,
Yeah, so the whole point of the Foundry mod is so sound comes straight out of the Foundry Window without any other player window required.
The fact that sound works with the Web Player open shoes that your session is live and you are successfully controlling it from within Foundry (you can change Moods etc, correct?).
For some reason the embedded Player within your Foundry TAB is not being heard.
Reasons might include:
- TAB muted?
- Volume in Foundry turned down?
- Permission to play denied?
- Something I haven’t thought of yet…
If you open Foundry and the mod and everything in a different Browser or on a different machine OR logged into a different (Windows?) user do you hear sound?
Sorry I can’t be 100% helpful.
Have a play with some of the ideas above, and let us know how you go.
And yes, to answer @marroon69’s question above, to get control of individual elements that are playing you can:
- Open the Web Player window
- Probably MUTE that tab so you don’t get DOUBLE sound
- Use search to filter by active Elements to help you find the SoundSet that is running
- Nav to that SoundSet
- Adjust the volumes.
The Syrinscape API does include the ability to control Element volumes, but that hasn’t been implemented YET in the Foundry Mod.
Worth doing?
@benjamin I think it would be great to be able to control everything with foundery vtt but not sure how much work that would be. At least maybe put a link to the master console and maybe some instructions on the syrinscape browser window.
“Like to control volume please open the master console and pull us the soundset in a muted tab”
It might also help to talk about the usage pattern on the “Syrinscape Controller” module web page. It currently reads " this module allows you to control and play syrinscape elements within Foundry" … control I would think would mean change volume. It is also confusing because the volume controls are still in foundery…they just do nothing.
I am sure you can be more descriptive but it would help people.
Okay, so I subscribed, got the Syrinscape player and browser installed in Foundry on The Forge, I can find moods and elements using the dropdowns (I really, really want a search function), and I can create playlists. The issue I’m having is that while I can assign those playlists and audio tracks to the ambience settings of a scene, they don’t actually start playing when that scene loads. I have to manually start them. I also can’t use them as ambient sounds when I draw an area of ambient sound. Is that intentional? Are those functions on the roadmap?
Hi. I tried all you recommended and still I need to open in next tab player.
Without it it is not working…
Here is error which I see in console when I start to play anythinng:

Thanks for your report! That nerdy code stuff you provided in that message really helped tell me what is going on. This looks like an issue fetching the convolver files we use to add reverb effects to the sounds. Without these files the player was not able to make sounds. I worked with the extension developers to resolve this, and they were very quick to release a fix.
So in short, hopefully you can update your extension (to v1.0.3) and try again.
Let me know how it goes!
I’m not sure I completely understand what you are asking for here, but is there a chance you were also caught in the issue above that was preventing sounds from being played within Foundry? Let me know if an extension update does not resolve it for you
Hi. I tried with new version 1.0.3 and all is now working.
So it seems that your update worked.
Thank you
Great news! No problems at all, I’m glad you took the time to let us know, top stuff
Enjoy the sounds
Is the new foundry module being developed by the syrinscape people, outside devs, or joint effort?
