Am I only allowed to use the Creator if I subscribe? - FIXED

Because that saddens me. I can’t get a credit card and thus Paypal refuses to let me subscribe to your services…

Can’t I buy the creator license? I would do this! Single purchases are no problem and I already did order some stuff from you. The App is great and I love to use it, but I can’t subscribe to your service because of that stupid credit card problem.

I’d be really disappointed if this is the only way to access the Sound Set Creator…

Ben mention a while back on Twitter that they were possibly looking at us being able to purchase vouchers for 6 and 12 month subscriptions which might help a bit with the PayPal issue.

@benjamin is this still something your hoping to do with Syrinscape? Although I do have a credit card I always seem to have issues with PayPal myself so if there was another way to get these vouchers rather then using a PayPal subscription I think it would really help a lot of people.

It would be really great to use vouchers. In the meantime - don’t know if it will help you at all - I think you can transfer funds to PayPal credit from a bank account, depending on what country you live in. Don’t think it works here, but it might be worth checking…

I agree, the voucher idea sounds great! I am from Germany and getting a credit card where I agree with the terms is harder than you might think!

Hi all,

Yes, we are definitely working towards 6 and 12 month Vouchers.

They will give you normal Subscriber Access and Ownership, but just have to be renewed at the end of each time period.

I’ll bump our dev team on where we are up to on this.

Keep reminding me of the things you want… squeaky wheel… and all that.

btw I LOVE people’s profile pics… I think I need to make mine prettier!

Hooooooogan!

Thanks a lot for that! It will help me tremendously!

So when can we expect those vouchers?

Don’t look at me like that you said to keep you reminded :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Hi @TheMOELANDER,

This should work for you:
https://store.syrinscape.com/store/subscription_vouchers/

You can buy subs in lots of 2 months. If you want 6 months buy three, and apply them all to the same account at once… your expiry date should build up into the future as you add each one.

Let me know if that works for you, and if you have any probs too.

I hope this might just be the fix you were looking for!!!

If this doesn’t work or is broken, we can refund and fix and try again.

Wow! That was quick!

If I wasn’t in Germany right now I would bake you guys a cake! That’s what I call customer service!

Question, If I buy several vouchers now, can I stack them?

That’s the theory. Try buying 3 and applying them all to your account, you should get a sub Expirery date 6 months into the future. Give it a go, and I’ll fix it up manually if it’s not quite working correctly yet.

They’ll all have to be the same type, obviously.

I’ll accept your praise in lieu of a cake… though what sort of cake are you offering?!? I do like cake!!!

If you should ever visit Germany, you’ll get my delicious currant layer cake!

You made it into my personal Top 10 Heroes of Tabletop Gaming Benjamin! You surpassed Gygax!

And your customer service has been the best I ever had!

Back a few days ago I purchased specific Sound packs from the store thinking I would only need 5-10 of them in total to get everything I needed, but I saw the soundsets creator, and am super stoked to get it. Will it ever be a single purchase item, or because of the way it accesses all of the data at once is this not a plan in the future at all? My hopes are that I wouldn’t necessarily have to become a subscriber, but if it’s the only way to get the creator what are the benefits of buying the other packs individually? One last question. If I was to subscribe, and get the creator, once I have unsubscribed within a few months would I still have access to all the soundsets I had created in my normal fantasy syrinscape app? Sorry if I sound cheap, but poor college student hoping to purchase for a large DnD 5e group here. so I’m trying to save costs where possible, and buy within your products intelligently Ben

Hi Erich,

All good questions.

Yes, at the moment the Creator is just for our top level subscribers (SuperSyrins). In the Creator you’ll have access to EVERYTHING we’ve every built, and you’ll be able to mix and match to the max.

We have no plans to make the Creator a once off purchase at the moment. We really want to be able to keep pumping the dev dollars into making it better and better, so our WONDERFUL subscribers are doing their best to support us at the moment!

As for continued access to stuff you build, this is how it works:

  1. You subscribe
  2. You can now use the Creator
  3. You build lots of stuff
  4. You upload it all to the server
  5. You lower your sub from Super to “Server Access” (a new sub about to go live on our site)
  6. The “Server Access” sub will cost just $5/m
  7. With this sub you’ll still be able to see all the stuff you’ve built (plus anything else you own, obviously)
  8. In fact, as long as you have ANY level of sub, you’ll always be able to see the stuff you’ve built and uploaded onto our servers. And of course, this means you’ll be able to install this content on ANY device you sign into (including new ones).

Does that all make sense?

Ask more questions. You ask good ones!

I got access to SuperSyrin via a voucher gift and my subscription is set to renew later this month, is it going to charge my friend’s card?

Also great idea with the Server Access option!

Hi @polar44,

I’m not sure I completely understand your question… but I’ll try and give you some info and then you can clarify if needed!

If you’ve activated a sub via Voucher, then NOTHING will auto renew. You can continue with your sub in two ways:

  1. Letting the Voucher period expire and then signing up in the normal way with a PayPal account linked sub that, yes, will auto renew every two months: https://syrinscape.com/subscriptions/3-supersyrin/
  2. Buy more Vouchers and apply them to your account (all at once if you like to build up a big length of time in one go): https://syrinscape.com/store/subscription_vouchers/

So, did I manager to answer your question?!?!?!?!?

Hey Ben!

Big fan here, love when Syrinscape is used by DMs and have finally decided to start using it myself.

Just a quick question so I’m entirely clear (I need to be, as like the above poster I am also a poor college student and have to be smart with my money :frowning:), if I were to buy a voucher for supersyrin for two months, create some soundsets, download them onto my devices, would I still be able to use them on those devices even if I didn’t have an active subscription (not even to the server access)?

I really can’t afford to start another subscription with tuition fees & rent, but I’d definitely love to buy a voucher if it meant I could at least keep access locally to the stuff I made in that period after the voucher runs out!

Cheers

Hey Slips

Its a great App isn’t it? My players couldn’t go without now!

If you were to by a voucher for a Supersyrin sub then yes for the two months you would be able to access all of the soundsets from all three players and have access to the creator and community created content.

Once you cancel the sub/voucher expires you would still have access to the two free soundsets that come with each of the players and all of the official content that was released during your sub, that’s all yours to keep. You unfortunately however would not have access to the content that you created in the creator. That’s because although you store the data locally it also has to be stored on their server and could contain samples from their sets that you no longer have access to. The players can be used offline but after 30 days it will ask you to reconnect to a network so it can verify your subscriptions and access.

As long as you keep some level of subscription active though then you will still have access, so you could drop from a supersyrin to just a standard sub. Hopefully there might even be a lower tier sub just so you can retain access to your sets but I don’t think that’s been confirmed yet.

I hope that helps and I’m sure @Benjamin can tell you more when he’s about

That’s right @Steve there will be a Server Access sub at $5/m that will let people continue to access everything they have made. Just $60 per year to cover our server hosting costs etc. People are uploading a LOT of stuff!
