3rd party Integration D20PRO - FIXED

I have yet to download Syrinscape, but I’m trying to figure out what it would take for a group of 5 ( 1 GM and 4-5 Players) to run Syrinscape through the VTT D20Pro. I believe what I understand is that the Integration has begun (or has been implemented). I watched the D20Pro + Syrinscape Integration YouTube video. It would appear to run it as 3rd Party integration, you’d need two subscriptions (to take advantage of all Syrinscape’s potentials). I was hoping for a more master to client setup (or as they hinted, a “conductor style” where only the GM has the sounds and the other players are using Syrinscape just for listening purposes. I feel this would be a lot more efficient if a GM pays for all the soundsets and has them triggered to play on individual systems rather than send them over and waste bandwidth and sound quality.

This video I watched was made back in Feb 2016 and we are now Aug. 2016. Is there any improvements or strides in this direction?

Hi,

The Master+Minion Player pairing is something that we are looking at next. We have been discussing running a Kickstarter to fund this block of dev.

That way, users will be able to move this dev work up the priority ladder if it’s something that enough people would really like to be able to use.

The Kickstarter would buy people advanced and guaranteed future access to the feature (and probably other typically fun Kickstarter-like perks as well).

What do YOU think?

Well, that sounds fine and dandy for the future, but for now I assume that if I use D20Pro, have 5 players and myself (while running Syrinscape as the maestro), I’ll need two subscriptions to run my campaign online with everyone getting the appropriate sounds that I control from one computer…AND not running two instances of the program and hitting two buttons for each set. Is that correct?

Yes… that sounds right. Yes, the d20pro works nicely, you hit buttons within d20pro and that triggers your local machine AND your player’s machines too.
