Impossible to play "official" sound packs through Syrinscape Control on Foundry VTT

Hi,

I subscribed so that I could use the official soundpacks for Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen.

Although this works through Kenku, it doesn’t work through the Syrinscape Control module on Foundry VTT. Is this intentional? It makes subbing pointless for Foundry users.

Hi @thedungeondruid,

You should definitely be able to play ALL content you own or access to to in Foundry VTT through the Syrinscape Control mod.

Can you give a few more details? SoundSets not appearing? Unable to find in search? Plays back but are silent?

Consider:

  1. you are signed in to the correct Syrinscape account
  2. you have restarted and tried refreshing the download/sync
  3. something else I haven’t thought of yet.

Good hunting!

Hi Benjamin,

I’m trying to play the sets for Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen. However, no matter how I try, they won’t appear in a search using the mod. I’m definitely signed into the right account and I tried refreshing too. Unfortunately the mod ended up being the cause of the ‘grey screen of death’ on my world on Foundry, so I ended up removing it.

According to the mod’s GitHub, it is no longer maintained.

Be sure to use the new version called Syrinscape Controller (see screenshot’s upper option) and make sure to be on Foundry V13 when you use it. Depending on your library size, aka number of soundsets owned, the refresh can take a while AND you have to reload the FoundryVTT window to make the soundsets show up.

Hi @new_vision, I am using Syrinscape Controller and the latest build of Foundry.

I’m a Super Syrin subscriber so I have access to all the sound packs, and they work fine on the Syrinscape player, as well as through Kenku. They just don’t appear in the Foundry mod at all. Only the basic soundsets appear.

See, that’s where I am confused. On the Syrinscape Controller GitHub there is no mention of it being discontinued, whereas SyrinControl IS discontinued.
I use the Syrinscape Controller module on Foundry V13 and it takes a long while to update the soundset list and you have to manually refresh the app, but they show.

So - you might want to double-check if you are really using the correct module.

Edit: I guess, just to make sure, you have entered the auth key in the module settings?

I completely removed the module and made sure that it was the right one when reinstalling (it was). I added my auth code again. It didn’t take long for the library to appear, but, same situation. Screenshot attached. All I get access to is the basic stuff.

(Also I checked the github page, somehow I ended up being sent to the page of the old one, yes I see on the correct one that this is still being maintained. Thanks.)

Have you clicked on “Refresh Listing”? If so - wait like half an hour, letting the app run idle. And then F5 it to refresh.

If that doesn’t help, I don’t have a clue what could be the problem.

Thanks for the tip about leaving it running. I assumed when it said it had finished, that it was done. Sorted now!

Yeah, that “finished” message is deceiving.
