Idea for new function: Let the webplayer play sounds from the Syrinscape application (Windows)

Hi,

I have a splendid idea (if I have to say it myself):
What about adding a switch to the Webplayer, so I can choose either to play sounds through the webplayer, or using the syrinscape-fantasy protocol instead, to trigger the mood/effects from the Windows application instead, so I can still get Surround Sound?

I’ve made my own soundboard webapp (internal use only, not a public thing) for the four campaigns I’m running. Sure, it’s a little thorn in the side that I have to accept opening a link using SyrinscapeURIProxy every time, but I can live with that, now triggeren sounds from my Streamdeck doesn’t work well any longer.

Would be a fun little addition, imo. Perhaps even possibly to do with a Tampermonkey plugin

Just a crazy late-night ADHD idea from me

Crazy late-night ideas are always welcome.

You CAN mute the Web Player and get the Online Player app to play the sounds… but then we never did get surround working on that… so that doesn’t really help!

But… that WOULD be a solution. When we next rebuild the apps (next Unity update etc) I’ll try and remember to take a look at this again.

Meanwhile keep bring those ideas! :cake:

Chiming in with support.

I have a nice surround sound setup, but that means I am locked in to using the applications, and they don’t support web hooks (on Mac). So I’ve never been able to complete my setup.
